Question on Releasing Fear

11/13/09: Dear Aurora, I know that it is our fears for the most part that keep us in bondage. How can we overcome our fears and live our full potential?

With fear there is no quick answer, it is about facing each one step by step and no matter what happens, to keep moving forward. The fastest way to rid the fears from your emotional body is to acknowledge them and face them one by one. There are many different ways that you can do this, especially since some fears need not be faced head-on. Some other methods of facing and releasing your fears include, hypnotic regression (to either past lives or to early in your current life), talking to a trusted friend (one that will just listen), or writing out your fears in a journal. These methods are fairly gentle, but will all bring you the result that you are seeking.

Just know that by acknowledging that it is the fears that are holding you back, you are one step closer to taking your power back from them. One exercise that you can do today is to write down all of your fears in a column. To the side of each fear if you can write the answer the question, "What do I fear will happen if I face this fear?" Sometimes you will find that this question will lead to another fear, and if that is the case, you need to keep putting down answers until they lead to an emotion. That will be the deep down root. Here is an example:

Fear of water - Fearing that one might drown - Fear of death - Fear of being out of control - Mistrust (Either for Spirit, or for oneself).

So you see how this common fear (of water) usually comes from other fears and those are all rooted in feelings of mistrust. For on a subconscious level, if there is implicit trust in Spirit then one would not fear water, drowning, death or feeling out of control.

Once you have gotten to the root emotion of each fear, you will be much more equipped to know where the energy is coming from. During your next meditation, you can ask you guides to take you to a past life in which you encountered one of your fears, and then next time face the next one, etc. Know that this process will take some time, but please be patient with yourself. You will be so happy that you did.
